Sasha Calle Is Cast As DC Universe's First Ever Latina Supergirl
Boston-born Colombiana Sasha Calle has been cast as the DC Universe's first ever Latina Supergirl.
Calle, who was nominated for an Emmy for her performace as Lola Rosales on The Young and The Restless, was chosen out of over 400 other actresses to play the part of Supergirl in the DCEU's new movie, The Flash.
According to Deadline, director Andy Muschietti was, "blown away" by Sasha's "toughness" and the "vulnerability that she brought to the role."
"We finally found an actress who was destined to play this role," said Muschietti.
And Latinos finally have a cape in the superhero universe.
