Meet The 8-year-old Mexican Girl With A Higher IQ Than Einstein

Adhara Pérez has an IQ of 162 - 2 points higher than Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

The Mexican prodigy has already written a book and is pursuing two degrees, with plans to become an astronaut.

Throughout her young life, Adhara Pérez was bullied and called a "weirdo." But, the Mexico City native, who was diagnosed with Aspberger's syndrome, a developmental disorder on the autism spectrum that can cause difficulties with social interactions, didn't let the negativity slow her down.

By 5, Adhara had completed elementary school; she finished high school just a year later.

Now, at just 8-years-old, she has already published her first book, No Te Rindas (Don't Give Up), is pursuing degrees in industrial engineering in mathematics and systems engineering, and has been named to Forbes México‘s 100 Most Powerful Women in Mexico list.

Her book, No Te Rindas, is Adhara's own story, about overcoming the obstacles of being different. She hopes to help other children, and adults, who are struggling with these same challenges.

The young prodigy is also developing a smart bracelet to help monitor the emotions of differently abled children, anticipating and preventing seizures and other outbursts, reports Vogue México.

As if she didn't have enough on her plate, Adhara is also learning English in order to attend the University of Arizona and study astrophysics. She plans to be an astronaut someday, colonize Mars, and win the Nobel Peace Prize. Nbd.

Only two women of Latin American ancestry have ever been in space, Ellen Ochoa and Serena M. Auñón.

Here's to Adhara and a whole new generation of space-exploring Latinas.
