Police Chief Claims Official Told Him to Shoot Undocumented Immigrant Children
According to Fusion,
Rene Cervantes, the former chief of police in the Texas border town of Rio Bravo, has filed a shocking lawsuit against his community, alleging that a city official ordered him to shoot the children of undocumented immigrants crossing into the United States from Mexico.
The Laredo Morning Times reported that Cervantes claims city administrator Miguel Berry told him to shoot the children of illegal immigrants so that, "it would be easier to send the parents back to Mexico."
According to the former-chief's contract, the town's mayor, Dr. Francisco Peña, not homocidal Berry, should be his supervisor. Cervantes is seeking damages in order to draw attention to a situation which he has repeatedly tried to settle out of court.
Craig Lawrence, Cervantes' lawyer, “Chief Cervantes wants to stay and keep protecting the citizens of Rio Bravo with [his] officers."
