You Can Now Stay in Infamous Drug Lord Pablo Escobar's Ocean Mansion
Ever wanted to live like a drug lord without the whole...drug lord part?
Pablo Escobar was known as the “King of Cocaine”, a ruthless drug trafficker who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. His legend still resonates today. So much so that Netflix recently created a popular series around him called Narcos.
Escobar's insane pad on the beach in Tulum, Mexico had been sitting abandoned for over a decoade - all that decadence and luxury going to waste, until it was recently renovated and transformed by art dealer Lio Lamca into a five-star hotel named, Casa Malca.
The hotel has 35 rooms, all designed to have a different look and vibe. Other rooms include an underground steam room, pool and rooftop deck, and rooms filled with unique art from contemporary artists.
“I purchased the property because I thought it was insane," said Lio. “I could not believe that in this world, a property like this still exists and hasn’t been taken over by a corporation.”
So if you're looking for an ocean getaway, but also love history and art, you'll just need to drop £395 a night and you can live like a self-proclaimed king!
