La gente unida jamas sera vencida.

"Don't just say 'Black Brown unity' as a hashtag - live it," shouted a speaker at Sunday's Los Angeles Unity March and Day of Action.

"La gente unida jamas sera vencida," read the march's flyer. "Enough is enough. It's time we unite."

Hundreds took that message to heart, taking to the streets of Los Angeles despite "near triple-digit heat," reports L.A. Taco in their photo series: "'Stronger Together': A March To City Hall Calls For Black And Brown Unity."

The procession, which started in the predominantly Latino neighborhood of Boyle Heights featured Mexican, Central American, and Black Power flags of all sizes, flying from cars and draped across the backs of black and brown alike.

Marchers held up signs saying "Abolish ICE," "Justicia para Vanessa Guillen," "Black Lives Matter," and "Stop Killing Us," while Aztec dancers spun to the beat of tall drums.

"BLM and the 'B' stands for Brown Lives Too!" read a sign raised high by a black marcher.

At City Hall, black and brown marchers met up to face each other, fists raised in acknowledgment and solidarity.

Yesterday was a such a massive beautiful event, full of all colors and cultures. Even though lots of people didn’t want it to happen, we all showed up, marched and we protested. On another note, do you remember our friends from the santi alleys? Well, they showed up to show support to yesterday’s protest. The energy everyone gave each other was colossal. 07/12/20 #unitedbrownnation #brownandblackunity #freethemall #freeourkids #freeRkids #justiceforvanessaguillen #justiciaparavanessaguillen #justiceforbreonnataylor #nojusticenopeace #abolishice #justiceformypeople✊????✊????✊???? #justicia #fuckice #fuckthepolice #nojusticenopeace #positivevibes #abolishthewholesystem #pontetrucha #staywoke #justiceforgeorgefloyd #iamvanessaguillen #sayhername #sayhernamevanessaguillen #brownandblacklivesmatter✊????✊???? #justiciaparagiovanni #justiciapraandresguardado #justicaparaalexflores #justiciaparagregorymorales #justiceforgregorymorales
