"You Can Count On Us": Vallarta Opens Early For Seniors, Pregnant Women, & Disabled

"You can count on Vallarta Supermarkets to be there for you."

Mexican-owned supermarkets are looking out for their communities, offering special shopping hours for those most at risk.

First Northgate, now Vallarta, our regional grocery chains have announced dedicated shopping hours for their communities' most vulnerable populations.

Vallarta announced yesterday that it will open early, reserving the hour between 7am and 8am exclusively for senior, disabled, and pregant shoppers.

Founded by Enrique Gonzalez Sr., a Mexican immigrant from Jalisco, regional grocery chain Vallarta Supermarkets has always prioritized its relationship with its customers and local communities, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to Latino student scholarships and youth education through the Gonzalez Family Foundation.

In this recent crisis, they continue to prioritize that relationship, releasing this statement:

"We are facing truly challenging times. In this current time of need, we want our customers and community to know that [...] our top priority has always been and will continue to be the safety and well-being of our customers and team members.

While we’ve always practiced the highest of standards in this area, we are taking extensive action to ensure a safe shopping environment for our community.  We are following the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and have implemented additional cleaning and disinfecting procedures in all Vallarta Supermarkets and offices. We have reminded our team members of proper hygiene, frequent handwashing and to remain at home if they are feeling ill and consult a health care provider.

From the Vallarta Family to yours, please stay safe and stay healthy. Working together, we will defeat this challenge and emerge as strong as ever; you can count on Vallarta Supermarkets to be there for you."

Proud of and grateful to our regional, Latino-owned and operated groceries and other businesses that are looking out for their employees and customers, leading by example.
