"On My Block" Keeps Blowing Up, Renewed For 3rd Season

Netflix VP called it a "little show," but On My Block's popularity continues to grow.

Just one month after season 2 scored the show even more streaming fans, Netflix announces that On My Block has been renewed for 3rd season.

Seems that no one anticipated the popular appeal of the "little" Netflix original about growing up in the inner-city, but On My Block has defied expectations, growing its fan base so significantly in its 2nd season that Netflix has greenlighted a 3rd.

Set in fictional L.A. neighborhood of "Freeridge," the show stars young Latinos Diego Tinoco, Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Jessica Marie Garcia, and Mexico City-born Julio Macias as Spooky.

Netflix VP Caity Holland, who called On My Block "a special little show," recently commented to the Hollywood Reporter,

"It's actually increased its following quite well in season two and people really have fallen in love with the characters and that cast."

The show's first season is rated 95% by critics and 97% by viewers on Rotten Tomatoes; its second season is rated a solid 100%.
