Macy's Teams Up w/"Becca's Closet" To Provide Prom Dresses To Girls Who Can't Afford Them
"It's just a dress...but it's so much more."
Macy's and Becca's Closet believe "no one should miss their prom because they couldn't afford to be there."
Prom is a rite of passage for young people in the United States, an event teenagers across the country look forward to, and have done for generations.
Unfortunately, from the tickets to the fancy dress, prom can get pricey, and many young women and their families can't afford all the expenses - that's where Macy's and Becca's Closet step in, and step up.
Becca's Closet is a non-profit organization named in honor of Rebecca Kirtman, a 16-year-old high school student who lost her life in a car accident after single-handedly collecting prom dresses for hundreds of young women in her community who couldn't afford them.
Rebecca's memory lives on in Becca's Closet, which now has chapters across the nation, providing donated prom dresses and accessories to young women who can't afford them.

And, this April, Macy's teamed up with Becca's closet to provide girls not just a dress, but their very own Macy's stylist and make-up artist.
One hundred and fifty girls from Culver City High School attended a prom dress distribution event where they chose dresses and accessories with the help of stylists and volunteers, as well as receiving goodie bags and makeup from Macy's own makeup artists.
Check out the girls modeling their dresses and sharing their excitement and gratitude:
A big should out to these two companies, make girls' dreams come true.
