"SÍ SEÑOR!" Raúl Jiménez Becomes Most Expensive Mexican Soccer Player In History

Raúl Jiménez has just signed a reported $40 million contract with England's Wolverhampton Wanderers, breaking the record not only for any Mexican player, but for the club as well.

Jiménez has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for Wolves this season while on a one-year loan from Portuguese side Benfica, reports ESPN, helping the team move up to 7th place in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old Hidalguense helped Mexico's bring home the soccer gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics, as well as representing his patria in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.

"It's a great honor for me to now be a permanent member of the team," said Jiménez in a comment for the club's website.

"I want to make history here at the club. With my teammates, I want to put the club back into the top places in the Premier League, I think we all want that and have that ambition."

Suerte!
