Trump Supporter Starts GoFundMe For Wall, Someone Else Made One For "Ladders"
WALL vs LADDERS
Florida vet starts his own GoFundMe campaign to "Fund The Wall." Texas vet claps back with GoFundMe for "Ladders."
Brian Kolfage believes Trump can "Make America Great Again"...he just needs a little help.
Since neither Mexico nor Congress is willing to cough up for Trump's border wall, Kolfage says it's "up to Americans...to pitch in."
So, the disabled Air Force veteran (whose own grandparents were immigrants) started a GoFundMe to make it happen. The campaign, "We The People Will Fund The Wall," has a goal of 1 Billion dollars.
When Kolfage's border wall GoFundMe went viral, Twitter user @HoarseWhisperer jokingly suggested starting a rival campaign for "ladders."
The MAGA dumdums are crowdsourcing money for the wall.— The Hoarse Whisperer (@HoarseWisperer) December 20, 2018
Should we crowdsource money for ladders just to troll them?
Army veteran Charlotte Clymer saw the Tweet and decided to make it a reality.
The Texas vet says she was "stunned" and "sad at the blatant racism" of the border wall GoFundMe. Clymer told Business Insider:
"I've really been happy with how this has generated conversation on just the absurdity of the wall in general. Undocumented folks are not bringing crime or drug smuggling or any of this job-stealing nonsense to our country."
Although her campaign is titled "Ladders To Get Over Trump's Wall," the funds will go to RAICES, an organization that helps provide resources to separated families, detained families, unaccompanied minors, and others who are seeking asylum in the United States.
The whole thing may seem laughable, but Kolfage's border wall GoFundMe raised 10 MILLION in just 5 days. Sure, that's only 1/100th of 1 billion, and Trump says he needs 5 billion to build the wall, but it's still A LOT of money. And that money represents a whole lot of hate. Let's rise up to meet it.
